Any ideas of a book that could easily be adapted into a play (maybe even by the kids themselves), containing four, equal (girly?) characters? Thanks.

A. The easiest thing for you to do is probably look at some Reader's Theater books. There are all kinds that can be purchased in teacher supply stores and on line. But I bet the classroom teacher (or at least other teachers in the building) already have some. Each book has collections of scripts. They are usually titled "Reader's Theater [something]" For example, I have one titled "Reader's Theater for 2nd Graders." The purpose of Reader's Theater scripts is to read with expression--so they would be perfect. Often these books are given a grade level. Use some for 3rd or 4th grade, or whatever level these girls are reading on. Look through the books to find scripts with 4 characters. If you really want to do one with 4 girl parts but… [cont.]
